The Old Irrawaddy Flotilla Company was revived in 1995 by the Burma historian Paul Strachan, who is a Scot. They were the first since the Second World War to offer pioneering cruises on Burma's spectacular Irawaddy River, reaching Bhamo, one thousand miles from the sea, and went on to be the first on the stunningly attractive Chindwin River.
Dining can be individual or with a group of friends. Inside or out and most diets are catered for. The level of service on a Pandaw is incredible and something we are very proud of. Their stewards are totally dedicated to your comfort.
Pandaw has an all inclusive policy so there are no hidden extras for excursions and non most drinks are included in the price of your ticket.
They are family friendly and offer mountain biking and treks ashore. In fact these expeditions are great for older kids who really gain from interacting with local kids when we stop in the villages.
Transportation, sometimes in the form of a cyclo or sampan, is provided for those who prefer a led excursion with our expert guides.
If you want private balconies, big flat screen TVs in your room, shag pile carpets and other such fripperies then Pandaw is not for you. If you seek moments of tranquillity interspersed by conviviality, whilst gliding through amazing scenery then come with us.
What makes Azamara Club Cruises® different from everyone else? It’s our focus on Destination Immersion®—which lets you stay longer and experience more on every one of our voyages. This means you get to explore everything from nightlife in Stockholm and morning walks in the French Riviera to all-day adventures in Costa Rica’s rain forests. Because life isn’t on a 9 to 5 schedule, and neither are Azamara voyages.
You’ll also experience incredibly scenic waterways and prime docking locations—two great advantages of our boutique-style award-winning ships. Here you’ll find people who are genuinely friendly and happy to make you feel welcomed, and with a maximum of 690 guests, staff and crew can quickly learn your name, tastes, and preferences, too.
